RUSTY RELICS is a digital garden painting featuring a garden water pump that I created using a photo of the original watercolor painting I painted many years ago as a base in a digital manipulation program to which I applied a variety of digital special effects and extensive digital painting elements to adjust colors, transparency and light until I was pleased with my new composition.
A shaft of sunlight illuminates the phlox ground cover and purple cone flowers in this perennial rock garden in the country. An old rusty water pump relic and well-worn wooden bucket, put to practical use in days past, are now precious treasures used as garden decoration.
