I was invited to participate in a Facebook artist challenge to create five new paintings in five days. Each artist was requested to post a new painting each day for five consecutive days on his/her own Facebook profile page and on the page of the inviting artist. This winter forest valley watercolor scene (bottom) of snow-covered evergreens and deciduous trees in a small size (6.5" x 16.5") panorama was the first image I painted on DAY 1.
On DAY 2, I posted a work of art called FROSTY WINDOW DISTANT SUN. I created this one by combining two of my watercolor paintings with some digital manipulation. I began with the WINTER FOREST VALLEY painting, then overlaid it with my FOREVER FERNS painting in a transparent layer to create the effect of looking through a frosty window pane. Although the original watercolor painting is a small size, because of high resolution technology, both options are available as canvas and art prints up to 60" wide above.
