POSTHUMOUS PORTRAIT PAINTING
FAMILY PORTRAIT OF GRANDFATHER
Original image size: 22" x 30"
Framed to size: 32" x 40"
Original painting was commissioned and sold.
This informal watercolor painting is a son's tribute to his cherished dad in loving memory.
My portraits are hand-painted original paintings done by looking at a photograph of the subject as if the subject were sitting in my studio. You can supply me with one single reference photo or a number of photos of your loved one. I am very comfortable working in either oil, acrylic or watercolor. Before I begin a watercolor painting, like the one shown here, I usually complete a detailed drawing on the paper canvas in order that the proportions of the subject are the same as those in the photo. This is difficult to change in watercolor so I make sure the drawing is correct before I begin the painting.
