The title of this painting, "Where the Boys Are" is a tribute to Connie Francis, a popular singer in 1960's. Although there are no boys visible in this painting, the girl obviously has her eye on at least one of them. I created the composition for this painting completely from my imagination with potting/storage shed and garden tools, dried flowers in the background; however, the young girl in the painting is our wonderful daughter at about age eleven. Our son (her older brother) and his friends were the focus of her attention here. We are very proud of both of our children who have grown to be wonderful responsible adults.

I am always in awe of your amazing work Hanne!! The atmosphere an mood and all the SPECTACULAR DETAILS always tell a wonderful story! I mean there is even a skeleton key in the rusty square lock with a curled red autumn leaf on the rustic wood door!
