GHOSTLY ENCOUNTER is a powerful and energetic digital painting of a stallion running wild. I created this colorful digital spirit horse painting using a photo of my original oil painting called WILD AND FREE as a base in a digital manipulation program to which I applied a variety of digital special effects and extensive digital painting elements to adjust colors, transparency, temperature and light until I was pleased with my new composition.
This vibrant digital creation features a flash of sunset color on a running Wild West stallion against the eerie night sky. It is inspired by the beauty of the wild and free horses of the western plains and is my interpretaion of Wild West Art in my contemporary style of realistic subject combined with impressionistic background to suggest movement. The horse is spooked by an approaching storm and highlighted by a sliver of sunlight. A bold contrasting palette of vibrant reds, yellows, blues and greens against a turbulent stormy sky of deep blues and blacks creates a subconscious excitement, movement and drama.
The full spectrum of color used in this digital painting of Western horses makes a dramatic designer accent, that will appeal to horses lovers everywhere.
