I was commissioned to paint this oil painting of the Concordia Club in Kitchener which proudly hangs high in the lobby of the building. This is one of three German-Canadian clubs in Kitchener. There are many other ethnic clubs in the area: Italian, Portuguese, Newfoundland, to name a few. An annual festival is held every summer to showcase the costumes and food of each ethnic group and celebrate our diverse cultural backgrounds, our differences and our community spirit as Canadians.
