This watercolor painting is one of seven original paintings of an RV camper van commissioned by RoadTrek Inc. in Cambridge, Ontario Canada who build and custom outfit RV camper vans. This watercolor painting called LES VOYAGEURS will be given as a personalized award for his special Quebec dealer client. This assignment was to paint the Roadtrek camper van for his Quebec Dealer award and include a family enjoying a nature vacation and his dealer's name on the personalized license plate.
My composition consists of a family enjoying their summer vacation with the Roadtrek van in the picture. I composed this painting to suit his Quebec client specifically, with a personalized Quebec license plate and two canoes called The Explorers and Les Voyageurs. The beautiful picturesque Quebec lake landscape nature scene is reflected in the vehicle, a perfect choice for exploration and discoveries.
The family is sitting on a large rock beside the lake. A young boy and girl are fishing, a Labrador retriever is napping beside them while mom and dad are enjoying the northern lake view. The vehicle reference photos they sent had reflections of their parking lot and building so I had to rely on my imagination, experience, memories and observations to create the nature reflections in the shiny camper van and RV windows and make them look believable.
