I thoroughly enjoyed painting this watercolor using a photo supplied by my client as reference. I included details of the sailboat's rigging and sails and the summer setting of a beautiful sunny day. Working on the painting in my studio during winter kept my thoughts tuned to summer pleasures and personal fun times at the lake. This particular scene had special meaning to my client and his family who enjoyed their sailing vacations in the summer sunshine together. Apparently the island in this west coast ocean scene held fond memories of happy times.
