These dories were tied in a row to the dock during a misty dawn on the east coast when they were spotted and photographed by our very observant and talented friend and neighbour, Jamie Smith. Below are Jamie's photo and wonderful original poem. Jamie was very kind to allow me to use his photo as reference for my painting. Taking a little artistic license, I rearranged the dories slightly so that they were not quite so aligned, moved the rope so that it angled off to the left, and I added a little morning sunshine glow and color.
