Enormous coniferous and deciduous trees cling in every crevice to rocky cliffs that flank Six Mile Lake and hidden among the trees are various cabins, cottages and bunkies. It is a scenic lake contained in an embrace of docks with moored boats of every kind. Inevitably, every once in awhile, a boatload of teenagers or kids in life jackets would arrive and climb the cliff across the little bay to test their cliff diving skills. Happy summer sounds of joyful screams and belly flop splashes reverberate across the lake amid the haunting call of the loon which is synonymous with cottages and northern Ontario lakes. Common among wildlife that inhabits the area are beavers, deer, Canada geese, foxes, raccoons and moose. Bears are not an everyday occurrence but they are around the lake and are frequent visitors to the garbage dumps.
