The way the sunlight trickled through the leafy canopy of these majestic maple trees caught my eye and melted my heart. The warm crepuscular rays of the summer sun after a cool refreshing rainfall produced a glowing evaporation, a rising mist like a magical forest fantasy. I fell in love with nature's beauty all over again. This image had to be painted.
Nothing in the world compares to the fresh smell of a pristine forest after a refreshing summer rainfall. When the sun streams through the glistening stands of deciduous woodlands in Southern Ontario and spotlights maple, oak, hickory and walnut trees, when it filters through oaks, ash, cedar, birch, spruce and pine that dominate the mixed forests in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence region in central and northwestern Ontario, when it peeks through the dense conifers and dribbles onto pines, spruce, fir, aspen, birch of boreal forests of the North, fresh dewy smells of evaporation invigorate the air.
