This watercolor sports painting features the glove of hockey superstar Mats Sundin of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. The glove which bears his initials M.S. and his Number 13 sports a little fresh blood which contradicts the apparent calm on the bench and reinforces the notion that Canadians are serious about their hockey. Although it is obvious that this painting is a scene of the Toronto Maple Leafs players bench, the only areas of the painting that are in focus are the hockey sticks and glove which makes this actually a still life painting. I have blurred the unimportant background and concentrated on details of the sticks and glove to create a focal point.
