AUTUMN MEMORIES
Remnants of autumn mingle with winter gear. It seems that winter arrived so suddenly, autumn fishing tackle and duck decoys were hastily sheltered in the "Bunky". The frosty cold exterior is a stark contrast to the warm glow from an unseen fireplace in the foreground. You can almost hear the logs crackling in the fire as you ponder warmer days when the window had been propped open to allow fresh autumn scents to waft through the one-room cabin. The sleeping Mallard decoy is unaware of the flitting Chickadees embracing the bird feeder beyond the frosty window pane. Winter is still full of life - you just have to look harder.
BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT
ORIGINAL PAINTING IS SOLD

"On the surface, my still life paintings are of seemingly ordinary objects but they often represent deeper thoughts and events. In "Beyond The Shadow of a Doubt", the question of innocence vs. guilt is weighed. Three ravaged books, respectively titled, "Duty", "Justice", and "Truth" symbolically support the "scales of justice". In the shadows on the left is a sealed jug of 86% proof Irish Whiskey expounding the motto: "Give every man his due". This not only represents my personal opinion but brings to mind the old adage that truth lies in the bottle.
A fallen leaf which has slipped into the scene through an open window casts a shadow, the flicker of doubt on the scene. This visual metaphor is among many hidden in the painting. The title of the piece and the open window invite us to look beyond the obvious in search of the truth."
WHERE THE HEART IS
Escape from daily hectic life in the summer sweltering cities of Southern Ontario often means a mass exodus every Friday on highway 401 north on highways 400, 11 and 69 to cottage country. Bracebridge, Haliburton, Muskoka, Parry Sound, Gravenhurst, Huntsville - these names conjure up summer swimming and boating fun, lazy days of floating on a raft in a sun-drenched lake, happy sounds of children laughing, belly-flop splashes, sizzling burgers on the barbeque, evening stories and sing-alongs around a bonfire. This is heaven - this is where the heart is.
AFTERNOON DELIGHT
This image tells the tale of romance in the barn, of stolen moments shared on a sleepy summer afternoon. You can just faintly distinguish the sweet aroma of a red rose above the smells of leather and fresh-cut hay.
ENCOURAGING SPRINGTIME
ORIGINAL PAINTING IS SOLD

Amaryllis and Crocus blooms from forced bulbs in a cozy potting shed are huddled together in winterscarce sunshine. They seem to be longing for the end of the long winter like children anxiously awaiting the final school bell announcing the start of summer vacation.
WARM WINTER DREAMS
ORIGINAL PAINTING IS SOLD

The warm glow of a romantic cottage fireplace and cuddling under a Hudson's Bay blanket with a friend is a natural setting for making plans for the future. Peace and love spawn hope and dreams.
WARM WINTER PASTTIME
When the nets are mended, dories secured, winter chores completed, a sea shanty like this is the perfect place to whittle away the time. This model clipper ship is sure to put a smile on the face of some young lad at Christmas time.
