When shopping for art, it is important to know the difference between original art and reproductions (commonly referred to as "prints"). The explanations below might help in your understanding of these terms.

In recognition for the work of those business owners who strive to build a better Internet and practice safe and honest business transactions.

ORIGINAL PAINTINGS

An original painting is one-of-a-kind hand-painted directly by the artist. An original painting can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, days, weeks and even months to complete. The price of my original paintings reflects the amount of time I have invested in the piece in addition to the media I have chosen to work with and, of course, how satisfied I am with the painting when it is finished.

The subjects of my paintings are realistic and usually quite detailed with vibrant colors and definite edges where I want the viewer's eye to focus. My backgrounds are usually impressionistic with blurred edges like a camera out of focus. The impressionistic backgrounds suggest a mood, create an atmosphere and, above all, direct attention to the subject and focal point of the piece.

ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR PAINTING:

I use the highest quality artist's aquarelle paints that have been tested to retain their hues and vibrance. My watercolor canvas is 300 lb. Arches 100% fine art cold pressed or rough cotton rag paper. This thickness and quality of surface along with the technique I use to secure the surface for painting minimizes the amount of warping which usually occurs with thinner papers when a lot of water is used. My original watercolor paintings will last for many generations when properly matted with acid free mats, placed on acid-free foam core backing with acid-free mounting corners and protected behind glass.

ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING:

I use professional quality artist oil paints made with extremely high concentration of pigments which are fine-ground on a triple roll mill, giving all colors in the range superior intensity and brilliance. My painting surface is professional quality, double-primed stretched canvas that is hand-stitched and tensioned. When the oil paintings are completely dried, they are given a protective coating. Unlike watercolor paintings, oil paintings do not require glass for protection. My original oil paintings will last for many generations.

ORIGINAL ACRYLIC MURALS:

For interior wall and ceiling murals, I use professional artist acrylic paints made with highest quality color pigments featuring exceptional color consistency. When the murals are completely dried, they are given a protective coating. Murals can be painted directly on the wall or ceiling on site or they can be painted in my studio on canvas or board to be installed on site when completed. My original acrylic paintings will last for many generations.

Reproductions of my original paintings are made on an individual basis with the giclee method of printing. This printing process has been selected because of the excellent quality, durability and permanence of the art reproduction. In addition, it allows me to offer reproductions of most of the work on this website in many different sizes.
